Karin Ingrid Gerda Munson, age 79, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at the Julia Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Hagerstown, Md.
Born April 13, 1941, in Stettin, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Gertrud (Knittel) Belling; and the widow of Ralph Lee Munson, who passed away on June 25, 2006.
She retired from the Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where she had worked as a nurses’ aide for 29 years. Prior to that, she worked for London Fog Mfg., in Hancock.
She was a member of the Hancock American Legion Post 26 Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed beach vacations and taking bus trips.
Karin is survived by two sons, Norman L. Munson and his wife, Lisa, of St. Thomas, Pa., and Steven D. Munson and his companion, Luanne Diehl, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Sandra L. Munson, of Fayetteville, N.C.; five grandchildren, Kelly Munson, Brittany Munson, Kayla Munson, Courtney Harding, and Steven C. Munson; and four great-grandchildren, Cameron Munson, and Nicholas, Mitchell, and Elizabeth Hartman.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James W. Munson; a sister, Renate; and a brother, Hans.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private service will be held in the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery Chapel, in Flintstone, Md. Pastor John Cook will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, 14253 Exline Road, Hancock, MD 21750
