Kenneth Leroy McCusker, Sr., age 78, of Hancock, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his home.

Dad was a wonderful and caring father and grandfather. He was born May 14, 1932, in Hancock, Md., the son of the late Austin and Anna Mae Miller McCusker.

He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, Hancock.

He was retired from the Washington County Board of Education, and was also a contracted school bus driver.

He was a member of the NRA and the Republican National Committee.

He is survived by his children; Linda Startzman, and husband Steven, of Clear Spring, Md., Kenneth McCusker, Jr., and wife Lora, of Artemas, Pa., Barbara Hornbaker, and husband David, Sharon A. Mason, and husband David, all of Clear Spring, Md., Gerald McCusker, and wife Donna, Harold McCusker, Dale McCusker, and wife Reba, Ramona McKinley, and husband Arthur, all of Hancock, Md.; brothers Loyal McCusker and Gail McCusker, both of Hancock, Md., Lester McCusker, of Clear Spring, Md.; and one sister Marion Kerns, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters; Mary Jane McCusker and Pamela Sue McCusker; brothers Urcel McCusker and Donald McCusker; sisters Evangeline Manning and Anna Louise Kidwell.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 5, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, Exline Road, Hancock, Md. Rev. Philip Unger will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Md., Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and at the Church Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m.
