Krystal Ann Pierce, age 65, of Hancock, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at her home.

Born May 2, 1948, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of M. J. Bachtell Rickrode, of Jamul, Ca., and the late Paul Rickrode, Sr.

She was a member of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Hancock, where, formerly, she was a Sunday school teacher.

She retired from the Washington County Board of Education as Assistant Manager of the Hancock Elementary School Cafeteria; and was also previously employed by Fox's Pizza Den, in Hancock.

She and her husband were very active in the local Cub Scout Troop.

She was a 1966 graduate of North Hagerstown High School, and attended St. Maria Goretti school.

She is survived by her husband Stanford J. Pierce, whom she married on May 17, 1969, at St. Peter Catholic Church, in Hancock; two sons, Sean Pierce, of Southampton, N.Y., and Mark Pierce, of Little Orleans, Md.; two sisters, Dianne Flynn, of Hillsboro, Or., and Teresa Reed, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; three brothers, Terry Rickrode, and Mark Rickrode, both of Frederick, Md., and Alex Rickrode, of Jamul, Ca.; and one grandson, Kole Pierce.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church. The Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the Church from noon until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
