LaRue S. Johnson, age 84, of Little Cove Road, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at her home.

Born October 24, 1926, in Little Cove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Fluford and Mary Elizabeth Bair Fritz, and the widow of Quay Johnson who died July 25, 2005.

She was formerly employed with Jacobs Brothers, Inc., Hancock, Md., and E.J. Fennel Co., Hagerstown, Md.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Mercersburg, Pa., and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Mercersburg, Pa.

She is survived by one son, Ronald A. Johnson, of Mercersburg, Pa.; one sister, Patricia McGowan, of Hancock, Md.; three brothers, Vernon Fritz, of Mercersburg, Pa., Gale Fritz, of Big Pool, Md., and Clare Fritz, of Seven Valleys, Pa.; one granddaughter, Lisa Haulman of Hustontown, Pa.; two great-grandsons, Clay Haulman and Jacob Haulman. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marbel Moats.

A service will be held Thursday, April 28, at 11:00 a.m., at the Little Cove Methodist Church, Little Cove Road, Mercersburg, Pa. Rev. Harry Strite will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, 10 to 11 a.m.
