Laura Lee Robair Bivens, age 60, of Hancock, Md, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024, at her residence surrounded by family.
She was born Sunday, March 15, 1964, in Bethesda, Md. She was the daughter of the late Elaine Golden Weller.
Laura was a 1982 graduate of Hancock High School. She worked as an Optician Manager at Target Optical in Hagerstown, Md, working for over forty years in the optical field. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and volunteered as a Sunday School teacher for fourteen years.
She loved doing crafts, creating Christmas ornaments and baking. She also enjoyed watching sports, particularly baseball.
Laura is survived by her husband of twenty-seven years, Michael Bivens of Hancock. Md; three sons, Brian Robair of Hancock, Md, Zachary Bivens of Christiansburg, Va, and Seth Bivens of Hancock, Md; two brothers, Stephen Robair of Hedgesville, Wv, and Michael Weller and wife Pam of St. Augustine, Fl; two sisters, Cheryl Heller and husband Kim of Hagerstown, Md, and Michelle McCarty of Waynesboro, Pa; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by one sister, Margory Smith.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at St. Peters Catholic Church, 16 E High Street, Hancock, Md 21750. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:00am at the church. Father Jack Lombardi will be celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Episcopal Church Cemetery, 2 E High St, Hancock, Md 21750.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 16 E High Street, Hancock, Md 21750 or Hospice of Washington County, 1710 Underpass Way suite 300, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main St, Hancock, MD. Online condolences can be expressed to the family at www.grfuneralhome.net.
