Lena Belle Stahle Berkstresser, age 84, of Needmore, died on Friday, August 29, 2014 at her home.

Born February 8, 1930, in Amaranth, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Martha Garland Stahle.

She was a 1949 graduate of Warfordsburg High School, and she was a homemaker.

She was a member of Amaranth Church of the Brethren, where she was a member of the Busy Bees.

She is survived by her husband Donald W. Berkstresser, Sr., whom she married March 9, 1964, in Cumberland, Md.; three daughters, Satricia Woodal, of Warfordsburg, Trecila Ward and husband, Randy, of Buck Valley, Pa., and Donya Billings and husband, Brent, of Point of Rocks, Md.; two sons, Lubrent Deneen and wife, Tari, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Donald Wayne Berkstresser, Jr. and wife, Barbie, of Warfordsburg, Pa., fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Alben Deneen; four half-brothers, Cloyd Stahle, Dayle Stahle, Meade Stahle; and Marshall Divel; one sister, Alma Stahle; and one half-sister, Luella Schomburg.

A service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at Amaranth Church of the Brethren, 2709 McKee’s Gap Road, Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev. Freeman Snair will officiate. Burial will be in the Buck Valley Methodist Cemetery, Buck Valley Road, Warfordsburg.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., and at the Church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
