Leon Paige Younker, age 63, of Hagerstown, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center Hospital, in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born November 22, 1949, at home in Millstone, Md., he was the son of the late Leo Isaac and Pearl Virginia Gladhill Younker.
He was a 1967 graduate of Hancock High School.
He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam.
He was retired, as administrator for the V.A., in Baltimore, Md.
He is survived by his wife, Hana Han; one step-daughter, C. Linda Santoso Hidajat, of Indonesia; one step-son, Anthony Santoso, of Indonesia; five sisters, Patsy Moats, and Wilma Keefer, both of Mercersburg, Pa., Linda Weller, Janie Spielman, and Audrey Edgerton, all of Hancock, Md.; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Younker, and Stanley Younker.
A service will be held on Wednesday, January 16, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock. Rev. Jeff Hawbaker will officiate. Burial, with a military graveside service by the Tri-State Honor Guard, will be in the Orchard Ridge First Church of God cemetery, near Hancock.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
