Margaret Carrie “Peg” Gordon, age 95, of McConnellsburg, Ps., died on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Chambersburg Hospital in Pa.
Born January 29, 1919, in Warfordsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Russell S. and Vida L. Golden Manning, and the widow of Paul D. Gordon, who died December 25, 1989.
She attended Warfordsburg High School.
She was a member of the Damascus Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery, Pa.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in McConnellsburg, Pa.
She is survived by one son, Russell D. Gordon and wife, Joanne, of McConnellsburg; three daughters, Phyllis Kerns and husband, Gene, of Hagerstown, Md., Sandy Premeaux and husband, Jim, of Las Cruces, N.M., and Mary Lou Ebersole and husband, Waynem, of Fayetteville, Pa.; three sisters, Jeanie Michael, of Williamsport, Md., Evelyn Potter, of Hagerstown, Md. and Leona Garland Gordon, of Needmore, Pa.; thirteen grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Manning; one sister, Ella Mae Shank; and one grandson, Russell D. Gordon, Jr.
A service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., at Damascus Christian Church. Rev. Loy Garber will officiate. Burial will follow in the Damascus Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md.
