Margaret Elsie Vanorsdale Stotler, age 83, of Hancock, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at the Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born September 8, 1928, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harry Oliver and Emma Artella Sheppard Vanorsdale, and the widow of Clyde W. Stotler, whom she married April 29, 1946 in Baltimore, Md., and who passed away July 2, 1993.
She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Golden and husband, Maple, of Hancock, and Debora Shives and husband, Chris, of Needmore, Pa.; one son, Clyde W. Stotler, Jr. and wife, Judy, of Hancock; two sisters, Nina Widmyer, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Mary Robinson of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Donald Vanorsdale, of Hancock, and Melvin Vanorsdale, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Tabatha McFadden, Terry Golden and wife, Buffy, all of Hancock, Michelle Booth and husband, Jamie, of Clear Spring, Md., David Stotler, of Hagerstown, Md., and Lynn Shives, of Needmore, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Ashley Glessner and husband, Matt, Josh Golden, Laura Golden, Brandon McFadden and Hailey Booth; one great-great-grandson, Isiah Glessner.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Rosella Lanehart, Janet Mills, Emma Bishop and Wanda Mellott.
A service will be held Thursday, November 17, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Burial will be in the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, Md.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the Funeral Home will be open from 3 to 8 p.m.
