Mary A. Douglas, age 87, of Hancock, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the Julia Manor Nursing Home, in Hagerstown, Md.
Born August 29, 1926, at Cohill Station, Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Emory A. and Goldie P. Graham Suder. She was the widow of Edison “Buddy” Keller Weller, her first husband, who died on June 10, 1968.
Mary attended Clear Spring High School. She was a life-long member of the Mooresville First Church of God where she served in many positions; assistant Sunday School Superintendent, Treasurer, Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, as well as a member of the Church Council.
Mary was employed by London Fog Manufacturing, in Hancock, and The Maryland Ribbon Co., in Hagerstown, Md. She belonged to the Big Pool Homemaker’s Club. She loved to cook and take care of her home.
She is survived by her second husband, Marvin A. Douglas; one step-son, Marvin Lynn Douglas; step-granddaughter, Hollie Adams; step-grandson, Michael Douglas; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lavada Moats, of Hagerstown, and Adele Brakeall, of Hancock; two brothers, Jackie Suder, of Hagerstown, and Emory Suder, Jr., of Mercersburg, Pa.; eleven nephews; one niece; eleven great-nieces; three great-great-nieces; and twelve great-great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Mickey W. Suder; and two sisters, Eleanor Bain, and Anna Lee Ardinger.
A service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. Dean Metcalfe, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Parkhead Cemetery, Big Pool, Md.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
