Mary Martha Smith, age 93, of Hancock, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born December 16, 1919, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ira Samuel and Barbara Rosetta Morris Smith, and the widow of Hildebert Edward Smith, Sr., who died September 5, 1988.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Damascus Christian Church. She was also a member of the AARP.

She is survived by two sons, Hildebert Edward Smith, Jr. and wife, Millie, of Hancock, and Gilbert S. Smith and wife, Bonnie, of Boonsboro, Md.; four grandchildren, Edward Smith and wife, Stephanie, Christopher Smith, Kelly Powell and husband, Barry, and Matthew Smith; and six great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Dana, Erin, Hannah, Emma-Mae and Alexis.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Rentha Smith; and two brothers, Waid Smith and Roy Smith.

A service will be held on Monday, January 28, at 11:00 a.m., at the Damascus Christian Church, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa. Rev. Loy Garber will officiate. Burial will be in the Damascus Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and at the Church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
