Mary H. "Shank" Ward, age 75, of Warfordsburg, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at her home.

Born August 1, 1935, in Pinesburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Earl Clifford and Helen Davis Shank, and the widow of Dane Leroy Ward, who died April 21, 2007.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Ricky L. Ward of Pasadena, Md., and Dean A. Ward of Dundalk, Md.; one daughter, Dena Miller of Greencastle, Pa.; one sister, Lillian Scott of Ledo, Ks.; one brother, Eugene "Butch" Shank of Hagerstown, Md.; three grandchildren and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Ward; two sisters, Velma Sis Harshman and Alice Lynn; four brothers, Harold Shank, Charles Shank, Earl Shank and Richard Shank.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 21, at 11:00 a.m., at the Buck Valley Memorial Cemetery, Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev. Scott Gibbs will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Md., Wednesday, 3 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Home will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. for the convenience of family and friends.
