Michael Powell

Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania

Michael J. Powell, of Warfordsburg, age 63, went home to be with Jesus, on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at his home.

Born November 17, 1952, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Johnnie and Frances Peck Powell.

He attended Whips Cove Church.

He was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a truck driver.

He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting with his family and friends; also washer boards; playing cards; carpentry; and watching westerns on TV.  He was much loved and will be missed by many.

Michael is survived by his wife, Evelyn; one son, Derek Powell, of Warfordsburg; and one daughter, Kari Lacy, of Berkeley Springs; three brothers; one sister; and five grandchildren, Kailee, Blake and Maverick Powell, and Julie-Anne and Tommy Lacy

A memorial service will be held at the Whips Cove Church, 5044 Moss Road, Warfordsburg, Pa., on Monday, December 7, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Gene Harding will officiate.
