Nancy Iden

Nancy Ree (Mellott) Iden, age 87, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Diakon Senior Living, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born July 29, 1933, in Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Roy Edgar and Gladys Theresa (Ekins) Mellott; and the widow of the late Charles Kenneth  “Kenny” Iden, whom she married April 25, 1952 and who died June 4, 1996.

She was a graduate of Warfordsburg High School, in Warfordsburg, Pa.; and was formerly employed by Weaver’s Restaurant, in Hancock.

She is survived by one son, Thomas K. Iden, of Winchester, Va.; four granddaughters, Diane Warrenfeltz, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Rhonda Ruppenthal, of Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Warrenfeltz, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Cheyenne Anderson, of Pennsylvania; three grandsons, Shawn Iden, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Sidney Lucas, of Florida, and Joseph Warrenfeltz; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey C. Iden; one grandson, Thomas Iden, Jr.; and five sisters, Letty York, Norma Pittman, Mary Jane Clevenger, Mildred Fleming, and Nellie Foltz.

The family will receive friends at the Grove funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 10:00 until 12:00 noon, where services will be held at noon, with Pastor Gary Quackenbos officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, in Hagerstown, Md.
