Naomi Clingerman

Hancock, Maryland

Naomi Marion Clingerman, age 79, of Hancock, died Thursday, August 29, 2013, at her home.

Born September 3, 1933, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late George and Alma Pittman Coonrod, and the widow of Charles V. Clingerman, whom she married on December 24, 1953, and who died June 2,  2009.

She was a member of the Hancock Assembly of God, and had been employed by Pittman’s Grocery in Hancock, as well as being a homemaker. She also enjoyed working in her gardens.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry L. Reynolds, and  Betty L. Seavolt, both of Hancock; seven sisters; Alma Younker, of Hancock, Anna Eaton, and Martha Wilhide, both of Hagerstown, Md., Wilda Reed, of Clear Spring, Md., Violet Geist, of Hancock, Lois Shives, Williamsport, Md., and JoAnn Blankley, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Singleton.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hancock Assembly of God. Rev. Donald Preston will officiate. Burial will follow in Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, on Thompson Road, Needmore, Pa.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30, 2013, at the Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 North Pennsylvania Ave., Hancock, Md., from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.

Memorial contributions, in her name, may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, Md. 21742.

Arrangements are by the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md.
