Patricia Ruth Nicodemus, age 82, of Little Orleans, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at the Golden Living Center, in Cumberland, Md.

Born July 15, 1931, in McKeesport, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Earl A. and Ruth E. Mann Creek, and the widow of Joseph McFarland and Elmer Nicodemus.

She was retired from the Washington County Board of Education after 30 years, teaching at Lincolnshire Elementary School, in Hagerstown, Md.

She was a member of the Piney Plains United Methodist Church, in Little Orleans.

She is survived by two sons, Donald P. McFarland, of Little Orleans, and Keith A. McFarland, of Bellsville, Il.; grandchildren, Rebecca McFarland, Andrew McFarland, Alysa Love and Angela Robinson; and great-grandchildren, Asya, Jeffrey and Cole.

She was preceded in death by one son, David McFarland, in 2001; and two brothers.

A service will be held on Monday, July 29, at 10:00 a.m., at the Piney Plains United Methodist Church, Faith Circle, Little Orleans, Md. Rev. Jack George will officiate. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., and at the Church on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m.
