Phyllis E. Younker, age 78, of Clear Spring, Md., passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at her home.

Born December 23, 1932, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Luther C. and Elizabeth G. Householder Kesecker, and the widow of Herbert "Gene" Younker, who passed away May 29, 2001.

She formerly attended Parkhead United Methodist Church in Big Pool, Md.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Filling and husband, Mark, of Baltimore, Md., and Tammy Shawley and husband, Fred, of St. James, Md.; two sons, Douglas Younker, of Clear Spring, Md., and Barry Younker and wife, Dorinda, of Williamsport, Md.; two brothers, Emory Kesecker, of Hagerstown, Md., and Edward Kesecker, of Hancock, Md.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Angelia Diane Younker; two sisters, Mary Frances VanGosen, and Louise Golden.

A service will be held on Friday, June 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parkhead United Methodist Church. Rev. Mike Simane will officiate. Burial will be in the Parkhead Cemetery in Big Pool, Md.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. For the convenience of family and friends, the Funeral Home will be open from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
