Quentin Roosevelt Golden, loving husband, daddy, and pap, age 95, died on Saturday, November 8, 2014.

Born in Bethel Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles Golden and May Akers Golden.

He was a lifelong dairy farmer in Fulton County, whose farming career was interrupted by his military service during WWII. He was drafted into the army in May, 1941, and was a highly decorated combat veteran. He saw action with Company C, 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th Division. He landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day, and was one of the first Allied soldiers to enter St. Lo as it fell on July 18, 1944. He went on to fight in the Battle of Falaise, where he was wounded on August 16, 1944. He was honorably discharged from the service in August, 1945.

While overseas, he and the former Ada Laverne Hill continued a courtship by mail, and were married following his return from service on December 29, 1945.

He was a member of the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, and the American Legion Post 561, of McConnellsburg, Pa. He enjoyed his family, hunting, and gardening.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ada; their four children, Robert Golden and wife, Barbara, Edith Carnahan and husband, Larry, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Dolly Johnson and husband, Wayne, of Hancock, Md., and Dora Ridgeway and husband, Richard, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; grandchildren, Kelly Peck and husband, Randy, David Golden and wife, Cami, Mike Golden and wife, Stacey, Kenny Carnahan and wife, Christine, Charles (Rick) Golden, Homer (Buddy) Johnson, Jr., and Beth Keefer and husband, Gary; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Warren Golden and wife, Gail; and a sister, Kathy Talkington and husband, Doug. Also surviving are his stepmother, Dorothy Yerks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Edith Hendershot, and Geneva Pittman; and brothers, Ralph Golden, Hayes Golden, and Earl Golden.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., on Monday, November 10, at the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Faith Center. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 11 at the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dr. John Barlow and Rev. Edward Blank officiating. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard. Burial will be in the adjoining Church cemetery.
