Regina Exline Heller, age 101, of Hancock, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born in Hancock, June 20, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Harry Francis and Mercy Rosalie Faith Exline, and the widow of Allan Fost Heller, whom she married November 25, 1936, in Hancock, and who died October 18, 1992.
She was a 1927 graduate of Hancock High School and a 1931 graduate, with a bachelor's degree, from St. Joseph College, Emmitsburg, Md.
She had been employed by the Washington County Social Services as a social worker.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Hancock; St. Peter Ladies' Society; the Hancock Garden Club; the Hancock PTA; and the Hancock Historical Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Mercy H. Elbin, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Penny Heller Barg, and husband Arnie, of Moyock, N.C.; one son, Allan E. Heller, of Hancock; six grandchildren, Eileen Drexel, and husband David, of Pasadena, Md., Jenni Heller, of Portland, Or., Katie Barg, of Chesapeake, Va., Bret Elbin, and wife Deb, of Chambersburg, Pa., Bart Elbin, and wife Karen, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Dr. Chris Heller, and wife Dr. Stephanie, of Altadena, Ca.; eleven great-grandchildren; two step-great-granddaughters; one step-great-great-grandson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 26, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev John Lombardi will be celebrant. Burial will be in the adjoining Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the Funeral Home will open at 2:00 p.m.
