Robert Elwood Crouse, age 84, of Hancock, died on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at his home.

Born January 14, 1931, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Preston E. and Ethel O. Stotler Crouse, and the husband of Mary C. E. "Bette" Crouse.

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, in Hancock.

In earlier years, he was active in Scouting in Hancock. He was a 1948 graduate of Hancock High School.  He had been employed with Fulton Petroleum Sales and Southern States Co-Op.

Besides his wife, he is survived by eight children, Robert T. Crouse, of Uniontown, Oh., Michael L. Crouse, of Lexington, Va., David L. Crouse, of Greencastle, Pa., Mary C. Livingston, of Frostburg, Md., James P. Crouse, of Westminster, Md., Elizabeth D. A. Fost, of Lusby, Md., Charles A. Crouse, of Harrisburg, Pa., and Patrick L. Crouse, of Annapolis, Md.; one sister, Dixie Weller, of Hancock; 24 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Lee Crouse.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 2, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. John Lombardi will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Monday, November 2, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
