Needmore, Pennsylvania
Robert E. Gantt, age 63, of Needmore, Pa., sadly passed away at his home, on September 8, 2021.
Born September 19, 1957, he was the son of the late Robert Gantt, and Nina (Hull) Gantt, of Hancock, Md.
Gantt was a 1975 graduate of Hancock High School. Although he was chronically late, he was a hard-working and dedicated employee at P & W Excavating, where he worked for 34 years. He took much pride in his work and enjoyed working alongside his great friends.
He was a loving son, father, companion, and friend. He enjoyed playing cards, throwing horseshoes, and drinking beer. He was strong and smart, with a heart of gold, and he was happiest when he was surrounded by people.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his life partner and companion of 36 years, Vern; his daughter, Nina Scriever and her husband, Mark; step-daughter, Misty Burton; two sisters, Linda McCarthy, and Melissa Johnson; one brother, Stanley “Bud” Gantt; his many grandchildren; and his beloved dogs.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Gantt, and Shirley Eddy; a step-son, Robert Burton; and he will be delighted to be reunited with his friends who have gone before him, as well as his dogs, Midnight, Rose, Charlie, and Dusk.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, in Hancock, Md., on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by services at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Nancy Green officiating.
