Robert James “Bobby” Hendershot, age 71, of Warfordsburg, died on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at his home.

Born March 27, 1943, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Elmer C. and Helen Swauger Hendershot.

He was a member of the Buck Valley New Testament Church.

He is survived by two brothers, Albert Hendershot and wife, Loretta, of Cumberland, Md., and Paul Hendershot and wife, Paula, of Lima, Oh.; three sisters, Julia I. Hixon, of Buck Valley, Pa., Dorothy Bostwik and husband, Eugene, of Hagerstown, Md., and Doris Elbin, of Venice, Fl., a number of nieces and nephews; caregivers, Rhea Mason, Kalli Mabe, Misty Cubbage and Julia Hixon.

He was preceded in death by a sister Ada Fletcher; a brother Larry Jack; brothers-in-law, Allan Hixon, Carl Fletcher, Gary Everett and Harold Elbin.

A service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at Amaranth Church of the Brethren, 2709 McKee's Gap Road, Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev. William Swope will officiate. Burial will follow in the Buck Valley Christian Cemetery, 2281 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and at the Church on Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in his name be made to Franklin and Fulton ARC, 2314 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, Pa. 17202
