Robert Lee Flowers, age 81, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Meritus Medical Center, in Hagerstown, Md.
Born November 25, 1939, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Elmer William and Edith (Divel) Flowers; and husband of the late Susan Eileen (Appel) Flowers, who died July 14, 2011.
He worked for Kline Paving for many years, and then later worked for Operating Engineers Local 37 until he retired.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Clark and her husband, Clinton, of Clear Spring, Md.; one grandson, Eric Fischer and his wife, Amanda; three granddaughters, Kristine Todd and her husband, Joey, Sara Nicholson and her husband, Chris, and Cheyanne Flowers; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joann Lynne (Flowers) Sipes; a grandson, Randall Charles Sipes; a son, Mark Robin Flowers; seven sisters, Dorothy Lucille Johnson, Catherine Fritz, Mabel Waugh, Geraldine McCormick, Edna Divelbliss, Helen Goodrich and Diane Montgomery; and two brothers, James Elmer Flowers and Charles William Flowers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., in the Amaranth Church of the Brethren, 2709 McKee’s Gap Rd., Warfordsburg, Pa., with Rev. Freeman Snair officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the start of the services.
