Roger Lee Shoemaker, age 76, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at Doey’s House, in Hagerstown, Md.
Born October 20, 1943, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Llewellyn and Rosalie Virginia (Keefer) Shoemaker.
He was employed for thirty-two years at the former London Fog plant in Hancock, Md.; and he worked for the Washington County Board of Education as a custodian for eight years.
Roger loved to hunt; and he was a member of the NRA.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel Shoemaker and wife, Colista, of Coos Bay, Ore., and Robert Shoemaker, of Boonsboro, Md.; one grandson, Michael Shoemaker, of Coos Bay, Ore.; three brothers, Junior Shoemaker and wife, Linda, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Johnny Shoemaker and wife, Janet, of Hancock, Md., and Timmy Shoemaker and wife, Samantha, of Marion, Pa.; one sister, Carolyn Hancock and husband, Vern, of Hagerstown, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the start of the funeral services to be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, in the Stonebridge Church of the Brethren, 14904 Orchard Ridge Road, Hancock, with Rev. Harry Strite officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
Covid-19 restrictions must be observed by all attending the services.
