Ruth May (Clem) Sipes, age 85, of Hancock, Md., died on Friday, November 18, 2016, at the Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home and Village, in Boonsboro, Md.
Born January 12, 1931, in Slanesville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William and Nora (Miller) Clem; and the widow of Marvin Clay Sipes, whom she married January 17, 1951 and who died October 9, 1998.
She was a member of the Black Oak Mennonite Church, in Warfordsburg, Pa.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane (Sipes) Vogt, of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; three sons, Robert W. Sipes, of Fayettville, Pa., Warren C. Sipes, of Hagerstown, Md., and Roger L. Sipes, of Chicago, Il.; four grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Sipes; and three brothers, John, William, and Lloyd Clem.
Friends will be received at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Roger Sipes and Rev. Dawn Reidy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Black Oak Mennonite Cemetery, 2247 Stoneybreak Road, Warfordsburg, Pa.
