Ruth Eleanor Taylor, age 80, of Hancock, died on Sunday December 28, 2014, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.
Born May 2, 1934, in Warfordsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Tenna M. Crouse Truax.
She was a 1953 graduate of Warfordsburg High School.
She had been employed as an inspector with the former Londontown Manufacturing Company, in Hancock, and she had also worked for the National Restaurant in Hancock.
She was a member of the Hancock Rescue Squad Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harry H. Taylor; one son, Roger L. Taylor and wife, Diane, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one sister, Doris Fearnow, of Williamsport, Md.; one granddaughter, Crystal Lynn Taylor and her companion, Bucky Divel, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and one great-granddaughter, Trinity Divel.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Helen Kirk; and two brothers, Fred W. Truax and Bernard J. Truax.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, MD, Rev. Rodney Truax will officiate.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements were handled by the Grove Funeral Home.
