Sandra Lucille (DeShong) Ray, age 71, of Hancock, Md., passed from this life at the War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Born October 7, 1946 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Beverly DeShong, and the wife of Jerry C. Ray.

She was a devoted Christian, who loved spending time with her “precious” grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Prior to her retiring, she had been employed by London Fog Mfg.

In addition to her husband, Jerry, Sandra is survived by a daughter, Melissa Trail and her husband, Darhl Trail, Jr., of Flintstone, Md.; a son, Lannie D. Ray, of W.Va.; three brothers, Dean, Mark and Dwayne DeShong; three sisters; Cora Santos, Julie McCarty and Teresa Norton; five grandchildren, Kristin Trail Zambrano, Kaleb Trail and his wife, Kristy, Cara Trail Miller and her husband, Austin, Logan Ray and Jordan Ray and his wife, Shannon; and seven great-grandchildren, Jakelein, Jose and Alliana Zambrano, Kolton, Annabelle and Lydia Trail, and James Dean Ray.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Kay Ray; a sister, Mary Jane Souders; and a brother, Rodney DeShong.

Funeral services will be held at the Hancock Church of God, 7528 Millstone Road, Hancock, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Orchard Ridge Church of God cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, from 4 until 7:00 p.m., and at the Church one hour prior to the services.
