Shirley Edith Remsburg was born October 31, 1927, the youngest Child of Bruce H. and Edith H. (Mellott) Barton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph L. Remsburg, who she married December 7, 1949, sisters Hazel, Leone, and Jane, and brother Bernard.
She is survived by son Brett (Melissa) and daughter Becky (Brian), 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 9 nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Mays Chapel Christian Church, serving as treasurer for several years, and a member of the Pennsylvania Grange.
She graduated from Warfordsburg High School in 1942, at the age of 14.
She was a homemaker with numerous talents and hobbies, including gardening, sewing, painting, carpentry, and cabinetmaking. Cabinets and furniture she built are still in use 50 years later.
She was an animal lover, the person who would frequently have injured small animals or birds brought to her for care. Searching the house for a bird learning to fly was a common thing.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to local animal shelters.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
