Stanley Nelson Munson, age 64, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away at his home on Sunday, December 6, 2020.
Born July 4, 1956, in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late Norman R. and Mary Magdalene (Potts) Munson; and the husband of Eileen M. (Coyle) Munson, with 36 years of marriage.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1974 until 1977.
He was employed for 31 years with Pepco Electric Co.; and more recently with the IBEW Local 126, in Pa.
He was an avid bow and rifle hunter; and enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Nicholas R. Munson and wife, Lauren, from Derwood, Md.; a daughter, Chelsea N. Alford and husband, Alexander, from Manchester, Md.; three grandchildren, Dayton Pryor, Laci Pryor, and Hudson Alford, and grand dog, Ruger; four sisters, Alice Gail Golden and husband, Warren, of Needmore, Pa., Barbara J. Golden and husband, Robert, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Mary C. Davis and husband, Jim, of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Virginia D. Bivens and husband, Roger, of Hancock, Md.; and one brother, Richard A. Munson, of Great Cacapon, W.Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Alison L. Munson; a sister, Norma Jean Yost; and two brothers, Ralph L. Munson and Charles G. Munson; and a granddaughter, Alyssa Nicole Pryor.
Funeral services will be held at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Pastor Dennis Newcomer will be officiating. Burial will be held in the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, Md., with military honors conducted by the Joint Veterans Council of Washington County and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown.
