Timothy Jay Swain, age 54, died on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center, near Hagerstown, Md.

Born October 8, 1962, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Adolph W. and Ruby I. (Hull) Swain, of Hancock, Md.

He was a 1980 graduate of Hancock High School.

He was a member of the Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren Church, in Hancock.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Shelly K. Dawson and her husband, George, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a brother, Bruce J. Swain, of Hancock; a half-brother, David Q. Helman, of Hancock; his companion and special friend, Darlene Helman; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

TImothy was preceded in death by one brother, Barry Hull; and his grandparents, George and Nancy Swain, and Lester and Dorothy Hull.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 1, 2017, from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main Street, Hancock, Md., where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Harry Strite will officiate. Burial will follow at the Stone Bridge Brethren Cemetery.
