Verna Lee Bishop, age 77, of Hancock, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Meritus Medical Center, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born November 12, 1935, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Jesse E. and Ruth B. (Bishop) Bishop, and the widow of Grant A. Bishop, who died  in 1990.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Grace Christian Fellowship.

She is survived by three daughters, Gladys McMullen, Lee Ellen Myers, both of Hancock, and Ethel Iden, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; three sons, Donald Bishop, of Hancock, Ronald Bishop, and Perry Bishop, both of Warfordsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Nancy Bishop, of Warfordsburg, and Dorothy Hovermale, of Hancock; three brothers, Frank Bishop, of Hancock, Jesse Bishop, of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Arthur Bishop, of Berkeley Springs; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mary Powell; a brother, James Bishop; and an infant son, David Grant Bishop.

The family will received friends on Wednesday, January 16, from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
