Victor Charles Gavin

Victor Charles Gavin, 79, of Warfordsburg, PA., passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Inova Fairfax Hospital, in Falls Church, VA.

Born December 31, 1943, in Baltimore, MD., he was the son of the late Vincent and Anna (Garrish) Gavin and husband of Annette Davies Gavin, of Warfordsburg, PA.

He was employed by the National Park Service, at the Gettysburg National Battlefield, retiring in 2010.

He served with NATO; attained the rank of Lance Corporal in the US Marine Corps Reserves; and received a Bronze Star and attained the rank of Captain while serving in US Army in Vietnam and Germany.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother Vincent Gavin, of Warfordsburg, PA.; three sisters, Patricia Shultz, of St. Louis, MO., Maureen Avilla, of Front Royal, VA., and Kathleen Brauge of Empire, CO.

A celebration of Life will be held Monday, July 10, 2023, 1:00-3:00 pm, at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, MD.
