Viola F. Golden, age 87, died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at her home in Hancock.
Born April 9, 1925, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late John Wilbur and Mary Magdaline Shank Fulmer, and the widow of John E. Golden, who died in December, 1991.
She was a homemaker, and a lifetime member of the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion, in Hancock.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. Riggleman and husband, Tim, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one son, Mark J. Golden, of Artemas, Pa.; one sister, Annabel Cannon, of Frederick; three grandchildren, John M. Golden and wife, Alyssa, Scott Golden and wife, Christine, and Brittany Golden; and three great-granchildren, John R. Golden, Waylon J. Golden, and Sierra Golden.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Golden, and John W. Golden; and one grandson, Matthew Golden.
A service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. The Rev. Eric Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Presbyterian Cemetery, in Hancock.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. For the convenience of the family and friends, the Funeral Home will be open from 4 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in her name, may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Md. 21742.
