Virgie Marie Reed, age 90, of Big Pool, Md., went to meet her Lord on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the Meritus Medical Center, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born September 5, 1928, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William T. and Betty (Cain) Householder; and the widow of Nelson C. Reed, who passed away August 29, 1994.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Patsy Woller and her husband, Denny, of Big Pool, Joyce Murphy and her husband, Roger, of Hancock, Md., and Debbie Diehl, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; three granddaughters, Melissa, Hope, and Kathy; six great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Morgan, Megan, Felicity, Garrett, and McKennon; one sister, Melvie Armstrong, of Front Royal, Va.; and one brother, William Householder, of Hedgesville, W. Va.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sydney; and a son-in-law, Eddie Diehl.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her nurse, Joey, and to the staff of Hospice of Washington County.

The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Sunday, September 16, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at the Shanktown Cemetery, in Big Pool, Md., on Monday, September 17, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Delmas Bard will officiate.
