Virginia Arlene (Sheppard) Smith, age 67, of Hancock, Md., passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

Born April 9, 1951, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of Irene Belle (Kerns) Sheppard, of Hancock, and the late Edward M. Sheppard. She was the widow of Richard D. Smith, Sr., who passed away on July 14, 2018.

She attended Hancock schools; and she was a former employee of the Park-N-Dine Restaurant, in Hancock.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Jeannie Lynn Smith, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one sister, Ann Conrad; one brother, William Sheppard; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Richard D. Smith, Jr.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements were handled by the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock.
