Wallace Wertz

Wallace (Buck) E. Wertz, age 92, of Warfordsburg, Pa., died on Friday, December 25, 2015, at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.

Born September 21, 1923, he was the son of the late William and Bessie Wertz, and the widower of Dorothy Jane (Unger) Wertz, who died June 24, 2009.

Wallace was in the automotive industry before he retired. He held various positions, including General Manager of Croyste Toyota, in Marlow Heights, Md. He loved to work on cars and was a top-notch mechanic.

He served in the United States Army in World War II, and saw action in Germany and France.

He is survived by his sons, Ronald Edward Wertz and Warren Lee Wertz, Sr.; a number of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many other family members.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Wilda and Virginia; and brothers, Ray and Marlis Wertz.

There will be no services, and a private burial will take place at the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, in Flintstone, Md.
