Wilbur Brumback, age 89, of Hancock, died Sunday, October 9, 2011, at the Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born September 13, 1922, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Lewis and Ella Smith Brumback, and the husband of Aquilla S. Brumback, who died November 8, 2004.
He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was retired from Fairchild Industries, in Hagerstown, Md.
He is survived by five daughters; Linda Green, of Hagerstown, Md., Carol Brumback, Joyce B. Younker, and Mary Brumback, all of Hancock, Md., and Brenda Mitzel, of Dover, Pa.; five sons, Lavon Brumback, and Nelson Brumback, of Hagerstown, Md., Philip Brumback, of Hancock, Md., Rodney Brumback, of Berwyn Heights, Md., and Terry Brumback, of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; seventeen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister; nine brothers; and one daughter.
A service will be held Thursday, October 13, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Hancock, Md. Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Hancock, where a military graveside service will be conducted by the Tri-State Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m.
