William Roy Shaw, age 62, died on Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home.
Born April 30, 1953, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of Violet A. (Hull) Shaw, of Needmore, Pa., and the late Bernard W. “Bud" Shaw.
He was a 1971 graduate of Southern Fulton High School, in Warfordsburg, Pa.
He was an employee of Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock, Md., for more than forty years.
He was a member of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, in Hancock, Md.
Bill loved bluegrass music, playing his Dobro, and farming.
Besides his mother; he is also survived by a daughter, Jennifer L. Boyer, of Williamsport, Md.; a son, William R. Shaw, ll, of Needmore, Pa.; a brother, Craig E. Shaw, of Needmore, Pa.; four grandchildren, Payten “Pumpkin Seed” Price, Ean “Hay Seed” Boyer, Mason “Augerhead” Boyer, Aubrey Jeanne “Little Miss Sunshine” Shaw.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Church and High Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. F. Allen Weatherholt, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, on Thompson Road (PA Route 655) just a few miles north of Hancock, Md.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 North Pennsylvania Ave., Hancock, Md.
